Oakford

Oakford beat is on the River Exe just north of the “Black Cat” junction on the A396.
Go over Oakford Bridge and park alongside the cottage as shown on the map, walk back to the bridge and enter the beat via the gate, please be aware and respect that this is in fact the house holders lawn.
Oakford is a very short right hand bank downstream beat with two main runs, general species to be found here are Brown Trout, Grayling & Salmon, there are occasional escapee Rainbows and the general consensus is they should be removed from the river. 
Please note that due to the short length of the beat it won’t take a lot of angling pressure and is only suitable for the occasional hour or so’s fishing.
